T5 Richard Arthur Walker served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Began serving on April 3, 1946 in Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Ohio and was discharged on October 20, 1947. Served as Military Policeman with the 16th Military Police Company in the 11th Air Force Command in Fairbanks, Alaska as a Technician, 5th grade. He was awarded the World War II Victory Medal.

Richard was murdered and his body was found floating at a quarry at Nelson Ledges State Park in Portage County, Ohio. He died on September 23, 1974 in Garrettsville, Portage County, Ohio.
He was buried in 1974 at Crown Hill Burial Park in Trumbull County, Ohio.
