Frances Elsie (Shafer) Walker

Born on August 17, 1901 in Champion Township, Trumbull County, Ohio. She was the oldest daughter of Charles Judson Shafer and Maude Irene Weiss.

Frances was average of build who stood about 5 foot 8 inch in height. She had dark brown hair and hazel eyes.

Early Years

  • Childhood - She was born and grew up on the family farm in Champion, Trumbull County, Ohio. She became ill with typhoid fever when she was a young child. (It was believed the water from the school was contaminated.)
  • Early Loss - An early boyfriend, Lee Cathouse, died in her arms from Bright's disease.

Frances also loved to tend to her flowers, loved to sew, knit and crochet, and playing her organ.

Death

Frances died from a heart attack on December 15, 1966 at her home in Warren, Trumbull County, Ohio.

She was buried on December 19, 1966 at Champion Township Cemetery in Champion, Trumbull County, Ohio. This cemetery is located on Center Street (Rt 305) in Champion, Trumbull County, Ohio. This cemetery is approximately 7 miles northwest of Warren, Trumbull County, Ohio.
