Born June 4, 1925 in Warren, Trumbull County, Ohio. He was one of seven children of Harold Elmer Nims and Lilah Mae Shepherd.

Description

Roy was of average build (162 pounds in 1943) and average height of 5 foot 10 inches. He had a ruddy complexion with blue eyes and brown hair.
