Born February 28, 1931 in Warren, Trumbull County, Ohio. He was the oldest of ten children born to Paul Pero Mazarek and Anna S. Duchek.

Paul was average of build who stood about 5 foot 10 inch in height. He had brown hair and brown eyes. He had a full beard in his later years.
