Born March 20, 1915 in Dysart, Cambria County, Pennsylvania. He was the fifth oldest child of John Politsky and Julia Klym.

Description

John was of average build (weighed 154 pounds in 1940) and stood about 5 foot 11 inches in height. He had brown hair and grey eyes. Selective Service records show the he had a birth mark on his left foot.
