Born on December 14, 1931 in Irondale, Jefferson County, Ohio. He was the third oldest child to Joseph Michael Nemitt and Elizabeth Helen Berish.

SFC Joseph Michael Nemitt Jr

Sgt First Class Joseph Michael Nemitt Jr. served in the U.S. Army serving with the elite 503rd Airborne Infantry Regiment as part of the 11th and 101st Airborne Divisions during the Korean War. He entered the military on 16 January, 1951 and was discharged on 13 January 1954. Joe served in Korea as a Path Finder earning among his awards The Korean Service Medal w/2 Bronze Stars, United Nations Service Medal, Combat Infantry, and Paratrooper’s Badge.
