Born on January 23,1904 in Toronto, Jefferson County, Ohio. He was the second oldest child to Joseph Nemitt and Anna Kirlick.
Description
Joseph was average in build (156 lbs in 1942) and 5 foot 5 inch in stature. He had brown hair, a slight mustache and blue eyes. It later years he wore corrective eyeglasses.

Married Elizabeth Helen Berish on January 28, 1930 in the Toronto, Jefferson County, Ohio. He was 26 years old and Elizabeth was 21. They were married by the Reverend Andrew R. Beros in Toronto, Ohio. As fate seemingly would have it, the Reverend happened to be a distant cousin of the bride. Joseph and Elizabeth would begin their married life living with his family in Saline, Ohio while he began to build a life for his new bride.
The couple would eventually have three children: two boy - Joseph Michael and Robert John, and one girl - Elizabeth Jane. A fourth child, a boy, died shortly after birth.
