Born March 19, 1917 in Dysart, Cambria County, Pennsylvania. He was the sixth oldest child of John Politsky and Julia Klym.

Description

Julius was of average build (weighed 148 pounds in 1940) and stood about 5 foot 10 inches in height. He had brown hair and hazel eyes. Selective service records indicate he had a scar on his right hip.

Julius' formal education was completed the tenth grade.

Attended Westminster College.

Religion

Julius was baptized into the Catholic faith.

He was a member of St Marys Church in Warren, Trumbull County, Ohio.

Military Service Years

Sgt Julius A. Politsky served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He enlisted on March 24 1941 and was discharged on August 31, 1945.

He was wounded by artillery fragments and received two Purple Hearts.

He was buried on May 25, 1984 at All Souls Cemetery in Cortland, Trumbull County, Ohio. The grave of Julius is located in All Souls Cemetery on Hoagland-Blackstub Road, one mile north of SR 305 in Cortland, Trumbull County, Ohio. This cemetery is approximately 7-8 miles north of Warren, Ohio.
