Michael Pasterik

Michael Pasterik was born on February 28, 1922 in West Aliquippa, Beaver County, Pennsylvania. He was the fourth oldest child of Michael Pasterik and Mary Klacik.

Description

Michael was average in build weighing 165 (in 1942) and his height was 5 foot 10 1/2 inch. He had dark brown hair and brown eyes. He wore eyeglasses for most of his life.

He gradated in 1940 from Aliquippa High School in Aliquippa, Beaver County, Pennsylvania.

Military Service Years

EM1c Michael Pasterik served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He began serving on 21 Sep 1942 in Pittsburg, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania and was discharged on 8 Feb 1946 in Sampson Naval Training Station, New York. He served as an Electrician Mate on the USS Despite and later the USS Hummer.[1]

A member of the Stefanik Club and the Panthers Athletic Group of West Aliquippa, Beaver County, Pennsylvania. He was also a member of the Center Township VFW Post 1821; the CIO Local 1211 and Treasurer of GCU Lodge 165

Death

Michael died at the age of 61 years from lung cancer on March 4, 1982 at Aliquippa Hospital in Aliquippa, Beaver County, Pennsylvania.

He was buried on March 7, 1983 at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Alliquippa, Beaver County, Pennsylvania. The cemetery is located at 2186 Brodhead Road, about 3 miles south of Aliquippa, Beaver County, Pennsylvania.
