Harry was average in build and stature (5 foot 8 inches). He had brown hair, brown eyes and wore glasses in later years.

Harry married Cathy Janean Timko on March 23, 1973 in Trumbull County, Ohio. The couple divorced on January 31, 1984. (Harry married his second wife Alice Faye Martin on November 9, 1984.)

Over the next seven years, the young couple would have four children: Michael David, Scott Christian, Eric Stephen and Dana Matthew.

He was buried on November 5, 1987 at Grandview Memorial Cemetery Park in Ravenna, Portage County, Ohio.
