Born on September 16, 1929 in Warren, Trumbull County, Ohio. He was the third oldest child to John Tarchick and Veronica Otrosina.
Description
He was of average build and average stature (5 foot 8 inch). He had brown eyes and blonde hair. He wore mustache and balding in his later years.

- Childhood - The family name was originally spelled “Tarchyk” and that the spelling was changed by some dutiful civil servant at Ellis Island. Evidently, he wrote the name as phonetically rather than how it was really spelled.

Education
Completed the eleventh grade at Warren G. Harding High School in Warren, Trumbull County, Ohio. He left school to join the U.S. Marine Corps. Received an honorary diploma from the City of Warren years later for his service to this nation.
Religion
Baptized in the Orthodox faith.
He was confirmed on September 22, 1929 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Warren, Trumbull County, Ohio.
He was an active member of St. John's Orthodox Church in Warren, Trumbull County, Ohio.
Military Service Years
George Joseph Tarchick served (4 1/2 years) in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. He began serving in 1946 and was discharged about 1950. He served part of his tour in the Mediterranean.

He and Amelia Gail Hudak Original were originally married by a Justice of the Peace on 27 November 1954 in Angola, Indiana. They later had a church wedding on November 27, 1945 at St. John’s Orthodox Church by Father Michael Kapral in Warren, Trumbull County, Ohio. The couple had five children: one boy - Timothy Edward, and four girls - Andrea Sue, Mary Kathleen, Susan Jill and Christina Marie. Andrea Sue died with in a few months of her birth.

Employed as a civilian employee by the 910th Air Base Wing as Vienna, Trumbull County, Ohio.
He retired in 1989 after working at the Air Base Wing for 34 years.

He enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting
Death
George died from sepsis as the result of a blocked bile duct on May 21, 2015 at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Ohio. He had been mowing his lawn when the pain became to great to continue and agree to seek medical help.
He was buried on May 23, 2015 at Meadow Brook Memorial Cemetery, in Champion Township, Trumbull County, Ohio. The cemetery is located at 925 State Road in Champion Township, Trumbull County, Ohio, approximately 5.2 miles northwest of Warren, Trumbull County, Ohio. George's grave is located in Section 1, Lot #21 b, grave 1. (It is the section to the right of the entrance about half way up the slight incline.)
