Andy could speak seven different languages to some degree or another.
The relationship Andy had with his wife Catherine was strained at best, possibly due to his love of the drink. When Andy became too intoxicated, he would sometime beat on his wife Catherine and, later, his daughter Gloria. During his drunken rages Gloria would take her younger sister Andrea to the home of her Grandfather Bishop who lived near by. In fact, due to his drinking, Andy wrecked every car he owned and therefore normally walked to where ever he needed to be.
While the bottle strained Andy's relationship with his family, he was closest to his oldest daughter Gloria. He taught her how to tap dance like Shirley Temple on the fireplace hearth while he played the mandolin.
The couple would eventually have three children:
- Gloria Joyce Berish
- Andrea Kathryn Berish
- Gregory Anthony Berish
