Joseph & Elizabeth (Berish) Nemitt enjoying an evening on the front porch.

Joseph was average in build and 5 foot 5 inch in stature. He had brown hair and blue eyes and wore a slight mustache in his later years.

Joseph was baptized into the Catholic faith.

He was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church.

Family Years

Married Elizabeth Helen Berish on January 28, 1930 in the Toronto, Jefferson County, Ohio. He was 26 years old and Elizabeth was 21. They were married by the Reverend Andrew R. Beros in Toronto, Ohio. As fate seemingly would have it, the Reverend happened to be a distant cousin of the bride. Joseph and Elizabeth would begin their married life living with his family in Saline, Ohio while he began to build a life for his new bride.

The couple would eventually have three children: two boy - Joseph Michael and Robert John, and one girl - Elizabeth Jane. A four child, a boy, died shortly after birth.

Death

Joseph died heart failure on April 17, 1966 at St. John Hospital in Toronto, Jefferson County, Ohio.

He was buried at Union Cemetery in Toronto, Jefferson County, Ohio.
