Born December 25, 1916 in Sidney, Indiana County, Pennsylvania. He was the eighth oldest child of ten children born to Johan Petrilla and Juliana Alice Minarcik.
Description
John was of average build (140 pounds in 1940) and stature at five foot 10 inches. He had a sallow complexion with brown eyes and dark brown hair.
