Introduction
This website represents the culmination of ten years of genealogical research into the ancestors and current family members of the Timko/Berish extended family.
The nexus of this extended family came about with the marriage of Joseph John Timko Sr to Anna Veronica Berish. Their simple marriage brought together two immigrant families who had come to America in an attempt to provide their families with a better way of life. This young couple's wedding took place on September 14, 1914 in the small coal-mining town of Dixonville in Indiana County, Pennsylvania. It's through this joining that the Timko/Berish extended family was created.
To gain an appreciation of the size of this extended family, one has to realize that Joseph came from a large family of five brothers and one sister, whereas Anna came from an even larger family of six bothers and six sisters.
