Born on March 16, 1929 in Newton Falls, Trumbull County, Ohio. He was the fourth oldest child, and only son, born to Edward Grohosky and Theresa Mary Baird.

Description

Edward, who was also known as Mr. G., was medium in stature (abt 5 foot 10 inch) and slim in build. He had blonde hair.

Education

He graduated from St. Mary's High School in Warren, Trumbull County, Ohio.

Religion

Edward was baptized into the Catholic faith.

Military Service Years

Lt Col Edward Anthony Grohosky, Sr served in the U.S. Air Force. Began serving in 1971 and was discharged in 1974.

He served 21 years with the U.S. Air Force, with several combat tours in Korea and Vietnam. He was a member of the 7th Airborne Command And Control Squadron. His last assignment was at 619th Training Support Squadron at Randoph Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.

Family Years

Married Dorothy Alice Timko on September 29, 1951 at Sts. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church in Warren, Trumbull County, Ohio. The couple had four children: two boys - Edward Anthony Jr. and Randall Gerard, and two girls - Erica Megan and Melisa Lynne.

Mr. G was known for supporting the less fortunate, and generous to those in need. He always took time to mentor and guide willing souls.

Death

Edward passed away from heart attack on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas.

He was buried in August of 2013 in Section 41, Site 98 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Bear County, Texas. He grave is in front of his sister Cecelia “ Bette” Grohosky who is buried at Section 41, Site 932
