Born February 14, 1909 in Sidney, Indiana County, Pennsylvania. He was the fourth oldest child of ten children born to Johan Petrilla and Juliana Alice Minarcik.

Description

Joseph was of average build (147 pounds in 1940) and stature at five foot 6 inches. He had a dark complexion with brown eyes and dark brown hair.
