Born on January 22, 1933 in Normal, McLean County, Illinois. He was the oldest child of John Wesley Brooks and Fern Madge Devore.

Description

He was of average build and stature (5 foot 10 inch). He was clean shaven. He had brown hair, and one green eye and one blue eye.

Education

He completed the eleventh grade at Normal Community High School but quit school to work on the family farm.

Religion

Marvin was not a religious man and did not belong to any organized religion.

Military Service Years

As he worked on a farm and therefore he was exempted from military service.

Family Years

Married Gloria Joyce Berish on January 19, 1952 in Tonawanda, McLean County, Illinois. The couple had three children: three girls - Katherine Ann, Lori Marie and Michelle Renee.

The couple would eventually have three children:

  • Lori Marie Brooks
  • Michelle Renee Brooks

Residences

  • Lived at 731 Hale St in Normal, Illinois.
  • Lived at 5932 N East Rd # 1400 in Georgetown, Illinois

Working Years

Marvin was employed as a construction worker, particularly in the bridge building trade.

Previously, he worked for his father on the family farm.

Personal Life

He loved to fish and hunt "coons" (raccoons).

Death

Marvin died at age 58 from from bone cancer of the spine on April 8, 1991 in Champaign, Champaign County, Illinois.

He was buried in April of 1991 at Hinthorn Cemetery in Lake Bloomington, McLean County, Illinois.
