Born on 9 September 9, 1916 in. Shanktown, Indiana County, Pennsylvania. [Shanktown was later renamed to Starford] He was the eleventh child of Michael Berish and Anna P. Mudry.

Description

Joseph, or Joe as he was known, was a young boy of average height and build. He had dark brown hair and blue eyes.

• Childhood - Joe early life was being just another kid in a household with ten brothers and sisters at home. Playing in the nearby countryside or down at the creek, had to have been some of his favorite pass times.

Death

Joe died from fractured skull from an accident by being either struck by a truck or falling from the back of that truck he hopped on the back to ride. He died on September 10, 1929 in Center Township, Indiana County, Pennsylvania. He was buried on September 13, 1929 at St. Bernards Cemetery in Indiana, Indiana County, Pennsylvania.
