Born October 8, 1910 in Altoona, Blair County, Pennsylvania. He was the third oldest son to John Politsky and Julia Klym.

Description

Michael was slim of build and stood about 5 foot 8 inches in height. He had brown hair (started balding in his twenties) and blue eyes.

Military Service Years

Pfc Michael Joseph Politsky served in the U.S. Army. Began serving on 14 Sep 1943 (Fort Hayes) and was discharged on 1 Jan 1946 (Camp Atterbury, IN). He served as a cook in Company D, 1308th Engineers under General George Patton. Fought in Northern France, Ardennes and Rhineland. He was awarded EAME Theater Ribbon, Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon, 3 Bronze Stars, Good Conduct Ribbon and WWII Victory Medal.

Family Years

Married Anna Joan Timko on January 31, 1938 at Sts. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church in Warren, Trumbull County, Ohio. The couple had one child: a boy Robert Politsky. The couple eventually bought a house in south Leavittsburg, Trumbull County, Ohio. They house was surrounded by old farms and was situated next to the Little Duck Creek.

Michael died from liver cancer on November 3. 1978 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren, Trumbull Co, Ohio. He was buried on 6 November 6, 1978 at All Souls Cemetery in Cortland, Trumbull County, Ohio.
