Republic Steel Corporation was founded in 1899 in Youngstown, Mahoning County, Ohio. It's plant in Warren, Trumbull County, Ohio (formerly Trumbull Steel) was one of it's many acquisitions during its rapid growth the early 1900s.
The earliest members of the Timko/Berish families to work at this company were Joseph John Timko Sr. and his brother-in-law Michael George Berish. They both began working at the company in 1928.
