Lt Col Edward Anthony Grohosky, Sr served in the U.S. Air Force. Began serving in 1971 and was discharged in 1974. He served 21 years with the U.S. Air Force, with several combat tours in Korea and Vietnam. He was a member of the 7th Airborne Command And Control Squadron. His last assignment was at 619th Training Support Squadron at Randoph Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.

Married Dorothy Alice Timko on September 29, 1951 at Sts. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church in Warren, Trumbull County, Ohio. The couple had four children: two boys - Edward Anthony Jr. and Randall Gerard, and two girls - Erica Megan and Melisa Lynne.
