 ** Arthur's father-in-law, Judson Shafer, originally owned the house on McMyler but sold in to Arthur and Frances for $400.00. Over the years he made many alterations to the property. The original garage on McMyler was made of corregated steel. Arthur replaced that structure with a two-story cinderblock garage he built. The second story contained a place for storage and the front portion overlooking the driveway was his woodworking shop. Later Arthur poured and finished the parking area and driveway beside his house on McMyler by himself. He also built the picnic area (concrete patio) and large brick fireplace behind the garage.
